We will be giving her a few weeks to get settled into her new position, plus time for the holidays. If not in 2 weeks, we plan for the first week in January (planning for a monday evening). Kelley will be willing to answer questions about her position in regards to the club director, and what information she has. We only ask that members are polight, respectful, and understanding that she may not have *all* the answers. So, take the time we have to think about what questions you really want to ask, and please avoid sending out lots of email inqueries that can wait til the chat. We hope this will get members the answers they need, without over working her ;-) -- Michelle Rogers Klubwerks.com US2002021047 NPO 20000905 Assistant IRC Admin AVST Forsaken Projects -- Michelle Rogers Klubwerks.com US2002021047 NPO 20000905 Assistant IRC Admin AVST Forsaken Projects -- Michelle Rogers Klubwerks.com US2002021047 NPO 20000905 Assistant IRC Admin AVST Forsaken Projects From xugumad at charter.net Sun Dec 11 13:46:31 2005 From: xugumad at charter.net (Alex T.) Date: Sun Dec 11 13:46:06 2005 Subject: [Camarilla-announce] Mind's Eye Theatre, the Camarilla, and more Message-ID: <1675975916.20051211134631@charter.net> Hello everybody. One of the difficult parts of Mind's Eye Theatre Development is making everything work for a distributed global LARP. As I'm sure you realize from reading some of the books, not everything that looks awesome for a tabletop game works well in our setting. For joint MET-Cam development, one of the tasks given to me by White Wolf was to integrate the tabletop mechanics of published books with the Mind's Eye Theatre setting. In the past, for MET development, we've relied on playtesting groups to provide feedback and let us know what worked well. But the best way of testing whether something makes sense for the entire setting is to actually let it be used by all of our players, and to solicit input from everybody. We are entering a very exciting phase for our chronicle: our members will have the opportunity to test MET mechanics for many books that have already been published and to see how they work in play. Ideally, by the end of a year-long publication period, White Wolf will then use membership input to format and publish that collection of mechanics and settings info. Most likely this will be in the form of a freely downloadable PDF for Camarilla members, which will look just like a chapter in the MET book. (I can't guarantee that this will actually be the publication format used, depending on available resources at the time; it'll still be freely available to our members in some form, however) We intend to pursue this format for future books as well: as a new book comes out we provide MET mechanics for the Camarilla's settings, let our members give us feedback, and have it published in the yearly MET collection later on. For future MET products such as Forsaken and Awakening, we will use the same route: MET Settings for Forsaken (and later Awakening) will be used in play to test their usability for the chronicle, and the Camarilla's entire experiences will be used as the main building block for the final MET Forsaken (and Awakening) product. This is particularly important for cross-genre interaction: as is apparent from the tabletop product and from the developers' statements, Requiem characters are meant to be the social primaries of the World of Darkness, Forsaken are meant to be physically unmatched, and the mental abilities of Awakening characters are without equal. Each supernatural has its own advantage, which the rules must reflect. The information we gather abour cross-genre play in the Camarilla will be very useful in determining potential shortcomings of the current rules and how to address them. The best way to let us know about potential problems with the projected MET settings is to send bug reports, either through your National Storyteller office or the AMST Communications. To make sure we can use your ideas, use a simple format that clearly identifies a problem, an example of the problem being used in a way that's clearly wrong (e.g. the power does something it shouldn't do, or it's open to abuse), and a suggested fix. Here's how: ISSUE: The Crone power "Vitae Aplenty" is meant to give you +1 blood when feeding. But if combined with the Crone power "Never Go Hungry," you can get an unlimited Vitae supply. EXAMPLE: If Carrie the Crone uses Vitae Aplenty to feed from her ghoul for +1 Vitae, then reflexively uses Never Go Hungry to immediately put 1 blood back into her ghoul, the ghoul ends up with as much blood as he started with, and Carrie has +1. This can be repeated for infinite blood! FIX: Maybe add "Once Vitae Aplenty has been used, a vampire's Vitae doesn't provide sustenance to mortals and ghouls for the rest of the night." In addition, since there's been some confusion in the past regarding the location of all of our rules documents, the only definitive and authoritative location for mechanics is on the Camarilla rules site at: http://camarilla.white-wolf.com/rules/ The new release of the Camarilla Addendum also includes sanctioning for the MET Camarilla Settings: Forsaken and Requiem, which provide MET mechanics for many released books as well as Werewolf the Forsaken (as discussed above). More settings information (e.g. for Mortals global organizations, Vampire covenant structures and Mage settings) can also be found via the respective venue pages. If you have any suggestions for improving the way in which we are communicating this sort of announcement (as well as any other issue) to the membership, or if you have other ideas for improvement, please contact the AMST Communications, Miguel, at varosja@gmail.com. For specific questions regarding settings, check with the AMST Settings (amst-charlie@deadletteroffice.org) and the venue AAMSTs.
