From clubdirector at white-wolf.com Mon Aug 8 16:03:11 2005 From: clubdirector at white-wolf.com (Club Director) Date: Thu Oct 13 20:56:03 2005 Subject: [Camarilla-announce] FORSAKEN SETTINGS TEAM & ICC FORSAKEN TEAM Message-ID: <20050808212135.WES23089.ibm67aec.bellsouth.net@camarilla> HELP WANTED: FORSAKEN SETTINGS TEAM & ICC FORSAKEN TEAM GSA DEVELOPMENT The primary duty of the GSA Development will be to comb through new material and note all items that would need approval or rewriting to work in a global LARP. The GSA would offer recommendations for approval level and propose rewrites, as well as contribute to discussion among the Forsaken Settings Team. The GSA will also be assigned special projects when not otherwise engaged. Should have * immediate access to new World of Darkness, Werewolf: the Forsaken, and Mind's Eye Theatre releases * the ability to quickly read and integrate source material * excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to write clearly and concisely * reliable email and web access * familiarity with the settings of the World of Darkness and Werewolf: the Forsaken Applications will be accepted until a candidate is chosen. ICC 2005: FORSAKEN STORYTELLING TEAM * Storytellers/Narrators: You must be familiar with the setting and rules of Werewolf: the Forsaken. Both novices and experts at convention storytelling are welcome. Send a short resume of ST experience; whether you would be comfortable narrating large groups, small groups, or individuals; and include any storytelling specialties (egs. whether you are skilled at storytelling combat, have exceptional rules knowledge, can invoke emotional scenes, can get into characters' heads, and so on). * Non-Player Characters: Can you give rousing speeches? Can you quietly usher folks around? Can you exhibit gravitas? Can you portray an engaging and memorable antagonist? Can you perform a death scene? Can you cry on cue? Can you make others cry? Are you an excellent costume player? I may not need all of these qualities, but I am looking for certain talents. If you have something that would make you stand out as a non-player character and if you're interested in playing a NPC at ICC, please contact me with a short description of the acting qualities you would bring to the table. In addition, I am looking for people with stage talent - costuming, makeup, direction, etc. - to portray PCs or NPCs with those same talents. If you can actually bring the tools of your trade, even better. ICC 2005: PLAYER CHARACTER CASTING CALL Looking for player characters to fill major roles. Some characters will become involved in the plot prior to ICC... * The Acting Company: Characters with stage experience - costuming, makeup, direction, etc. (if you actually have those skills, even better) * The Orphan: I'm looking for a character of unknown parentage * The Convert/The Zealot: Someone lost, looking for a mission, or with a religious attachment to the Uratha spiritual world * The Doomed: Seeking a dramatic death? * The Villain: Evil, or just want to try it out? * The War Criminal: The sinner who committed atrocities during the Brethren War If you're interested, provide a short character background, ST contact info, whether you can commit to playing the character after ICC, and other major Forsaken events you may be attending as that character in 2006. (Some of these roles don't require any post-ICC commitment at all. Even if you have no plans for the character after ICC, apply if you're interested.) ICC 2005: MAKING IT PERSONAL Want to improve the odds that your character will be more heavily involved in the Forsaken story at ICC? Have some plothooks in your background that perhaps could be explored? Maybe some compelling NPC antagonist? Lost loves? Orphaned? Just dealt an unusually telling blow against the Pure? (Committed some blasphemy? Betrayed your tribe? Poisoned your Alpha?) Send me your character background, pref'bly a page or less, highlighting some open plothooks and possibilities for your character that might be approached during the Forsaken game at ICC. Or just send the background and say, "I don't know what'll work, but I know I wanna' be involved! Do your stuff!" Include contact information for your Storyteller. Also, feel free to tell me what level of involvement you'd like. Some people just don't want to stand by the wall, but also don't want mortal combat with a demon. Some want to be the one to tell a little tale integral to the plot (a clue!), others may want to angst their little hearts out as the tragedy of their damnation is writ large across Ballrooms A through C. Now, I prob'ly won't be able to accommodate everyone, or even many people, but I'd like to weave some plot threads, big, small, and personal, to give you all the very best experience at ICC. So, if you're interested, send a short background, ST contact info, maybe an electronic pic of your character, and what you'd like to get out of the experience. ICC 2005: CALL FOR PROPS If you can create a prop resembling a stone construct with a great deal of writing on it, please submit a proposal and cost estimate. Ease of transportation and ability to assemble at conventions are important factors. Must be ready by ICC. Feel free to query privately for details. Possible proposals could be, for example, marble-patterned fabric draped over furniture or painted & foldable cardboard boxes. For any of these opportunities, please contact Chuck Childers at chuck.childers@comcast.net. -- Chuck Childers US2002021015 AAMST Settings: Forsaken From clubdirector at white-wolf.com Tue Aug 9 13:02:14 2005 From: clubdirector at white-wolf.com (Club Director) Date: Thu Oct 13 20:56:03 2005 Subject: [Camarilla-announce] Camarilla Awards 2005 - Nomination Process Announcement Message-ID: <20050809180214.11A6A1F7AC@cammail.white-wolf.com> For the Awards of 2005, the Trustees of the Camarilla will manage the process, under the Club Director's supervision. The Merry Manor Inn has hosted NERE in the past, and has welcomed us back again this year for what is assured to be an event run by the well-known storytelling and coordinator staff of the North East! Thursday night will feature soft roleplay for Requiem, as well as some hard Mortals roleplay. The scene is set for a conclave of the minds on an island off of Massachusetts--but everyone knows that when a group of people get together, regardless of their leanings, something eventful will happen! He brought only a tattered copy of the 1939 Trail of the Lost Dutchman. Stopping at a nearby town he purchased only meager supplies and spent one last night in "civilization" expounding the virtues of a free society, broken from the chains of capitalism. Over dinner he made a deal with several other patrons stating that when he found the lost mine, he would free them as well from the pressures of monetary worries. One skeptical man, Wilson Fisher, agreed to go with James on his hunt, if nothing else to finish his vacation seeing the off-the-beaten path areas of Arizona. One year to the day, each of the patrons from that memorial dinner received a package containing a piece of a clay tablet, on which a portion of a map was inscribed. Most discounted the note "I didn't forget you James Lastars". Almost 50 years later those pieces traveled down the path of inheritance and collectors, and one of them reached you. Now you're here, in the Arizona desert, with a group of people who each hold a piece of this strange legacy. The map certainly leads somewhere...but it remains to be seen if X really does mark the spot. ================================================================= Welcome to the ICC Off-Site Mortals Event! Don't come all the way to Arizona just to stay in the hotel, get out and enjoy the beauty of Arizona while you LARP! The above teaser is for a special off-site event on Saturday afternoon. As a reminder, the regular ICC Mortals Venue will run on Thursday from 8pm to late at the hotel in the Clark Gabel and Errol Flynn rooms. On Saturday, a small group will be going to Lost Dutchman State Park and holding an outdoor game, run by the AAMST Mortals. There are several very important things to know about this event: -This event is limited to 5 players. -We will be hiking 4 miles in the desert during some of the hottest parts of the day (it may be late October, but its still Arizona). This is hiking, not a leisurely stroll. Be prepared for serious physical exertion. -This event will run directly opposite the Mage game, and yes, this is the big end of the Mage Venue blow out. So if you play Mage, be aware, you cannot participate in both events at once. -There is an additional cost for this event of $35 per person. This covers: van rental, water, food, gear, and park entrance fee. So, if you're still interested, here's what to do: Send me an e-mail with your name, Camarilla #, and VST name and e-mail, and let me know that yes, you want to spend most of Saturday afternoon at ICC hiking out in the desert while playing Mortals! Send this to me by August 31. In the first week of September I will draw names out of a hat, with a local coordinator as witness. Players will be notified on or before September 10. Since a lot of those GIRs are reasonably new and developing, this position involves a lot of hands-on tutoring, helping develop appropriate storylines and settings, etc. You will be working closely with the ACD GIR (Jen Hutt) to make sure those GIRs have all they need. You'll need to be a mentor, a tutor and a teacher. In the past you've shown a lot of initiative at helping the game develop, and frankly those are perhaps some of the most important parts of the Camarilla these days, needing enormous care and genuinely interested oversight. This position requires a high degree of professionalism is required for this position. Those interested in applying should submit a Camarilla resume/CV and a vision and work plan for the office for the next calendar year. Please submit information to the AMST Settings, Charlie Rose at (amst-charlie@deadletteroffice.org) and Michelle Webb, AMST Chief of Staff (greebotrill@gmail.com) by no later than midnight 15AUG05. Please include three Camarilla references as well as a listing of any disciplinary actions or sanctions you may have had while a member of the organization.
